Texas Memory Systems produces enterprise-grade solid state disks (SSDs), non-volatile storage systems that hold data on RAM and NAND Flash memory media. RamSan® products are cost-effective solutions to common enterprise application and database performance problems. Traditional hard drive-based systems have inherent performance weaknesses due to the high access times (latency) of mechanically rotating hard drives. In contrast, SSDs rely upon memory chips for data storage. These media deliver dramatically lower latency, narrowing the gap between processor and storage speeds.
